Science - Classification of Animals

This term for Science, we are focusing on the classification of different living creatures. On Thursday, the Year 3s are going to the Zoo to learn more about classifying animals and to see many different varieties of animals.

We used a branching key to see what family each animal belonged to. We found out that humans are mammals.

We went exploring around the school to find many different creatures so we could practice our classifying skills. We found out that a lizard is a reptile, an ant is an insect, a snail is a mollusc and a bird is simply a bird. Have a look at some of our amazing photos from our animal adventure.
